What we digitise

Whatever you’ve got, let’s talk.

Virtually any physical or legacy digital information — on paper, on film, on media or already on a server. Different forms need different handling, but the aim is always the same: information you can actually use.

Whatever form your information currently takes, we can start there.

Forms of information

Information takes many forms.

Almost anything that holds information can become useful digital information. These are the forms we see most often.

On paper

The most familiar form — and often the largest volume.

  • Paper & Documents

Loose papers, files, forms and records.

  • Books & Bound Material

    Volumes, registers and bound records.

  • Incoming Mail

Day-to-day post, captured as it arrives.

As images

Photographic originals where detail and tone matter.

  • Photographs

    Prints and photographic collections.

  • Negatives & Slides

Transparent originals that need their own capture method.

On film

Information already reduced to film, often for long-term storage.

  • Film

    Film formats and reels.

  • Microfilm

Roll film from existing microform archives.

  • Microfiche

    Fiche sheets and microform cards.

At scale

Material too large for standard handling.

  • Drawings & Plans

    Technical, architectural and engineering drawings.

  • Maps & Large Format

Maps and oversized material — including formats larger than A0 where appropriate.

On media

Information held on carriers that are becoming harder to read.

  • CDs & DVDs

Optical discs and the files stored on them.

  • Tape & Magnetic Media

    Legacy tape and magnetic storage.

Already digital

Digital, but not necessarily finished.

  • Legacy Digital Files

Files in older formats or systems.

  • Existing PDFs

Scans that exist, but aren’t yet searchable, indexed or structured.

Something else

Unusual, fragile or one-off material.

  • Specialist Material

If it holds information, ask us about it.

Already digital

A digital file is not necessarily finished information.

You may already have thousands of PDFs and still have a problem — because they aren’t searchable, indexed, structured or usable. Being digital is a starting point, not the destination.

Where existing PDFs typically are

Already done
